Book Review

"The Alchemist"
#chapter one

Helloooo..welcome back on my blog guys.. as I said in my previous blog that I will review about motivational book that is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. I start this review with chapter one. In this chapter, the book introduce the main character, who is he or she? Jeng..jeng..jeng. As the synopsis, he is Santiago. He is from Spain, and grow up from a simple farm simply family also he has a job as a shepherd. I really like Santiago character for now, because he is a typical boy who love read. He always trade his book that had he read to new thicker book, altough he just a sheperd.

He has a dream to becomes a world traveller, it because he always look that people from another country come to his village just for search of new things, he wants to see the castle in the towns where they live too by himself. Actually his parents had wanted him to become  a priest, and thereby a source of pride for his family, but he decided to travel the world. Oneday, his father gave him three ancient Spanish gold coins as his inheritance to buy a flock of sheep and use the coins to be able travel the world.

I really touched when the parents support their children’s ways. Never complain about what children choose, it makes children improved their skill as well. I wish every parents let their children walk on their path. Whatever the children’s desire just push them to be someone that can enjoy their life and useful for people around them. There are words that I really like from Santiago “It’s the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting”

Someday, Santiago visited the old woman house to asked to intepreted his dreams. He told all of his dreams to the old woman with aimed that he can learn about the dreams. Santiago’s dream is there child went on playing with his sheep for quite a while and the child took him by both hands and transported him to the Egyptian pyramids. The child said the last three words that if he come to Egyption pyramid, he will find a hidden treasure. Santiago asked the old woman about that dream, and the old woman surprised because she tought Santiago will get the treasure. So, the old woman asked Santiago to give her one-tenth treasure if he come to there and as exchange that she will tell Santiago the way to the Egyption pyramid.

Are you curious about the next story from The Alchemist? Will Santigao do what the old woman said? I will continue my review about this book in the next week, so keep support me for the next blog. See you..

  1. Thanks for introduced this great book, from Santiago story it kind of remind me some scientist life named Bruno from Spain. They had same life story. Both come from poor family, but their ambition still great.
